Looking Back and Looking Ahead: My FORM Internship Reflection

Agency Life Inspiration

As I enter my final week at Wray Ward, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for everything this experience has given me. Being a member of the company’s 2025 FORM internship cohort has been nothing short of transformative — a season of growth, discovery and connection.

Before starting my internship, I had an idea of what my career path might look like. Now, as I wrap up my time here, I’m leaving with a much clearer sense of who I am and how I can play to my strengths in this industry. I’ve learned so much about the inner workings of an agency, how strategy and creativity come together, and how collaboration truly makes the work better.

But more than anything, I’ve learned about myself — what excites me, where I thrive and how I can keep growing. I’m proud of this personal growth and inspired to carry the lessons learned at Wray Ward into whatever comes next.

Discovering My Strengths

I’ve always been someone who’s never met a stranger — connecting with people comes naturally. In my first blog post, I shared how I see communication as my artform: a way to understand what truly makes people light up. My time at Wray Ward has reinforced how important this skill is when working in an agency environment.

This internship has energized me with countless opportunities to grow. Whether collaborating with teammates, contributing to client work or learning from those around me, I’ve witnessed firsthand how my strengths in building relationships can make a real impact.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to keep using my form of art to its fullest potential. This experience has helped me realize that I’m most passionate about honing my communication skills, nurturing client relationships and embracing strategic challenges in PR as I move forward in my career.

My Internship Takeaways

While I have learned a lot about how to capitalize on my strengths, I have also taken away three specific pieces of advice I would love to share:

  1. Just because you’re the youngest in the room, doesn’t mean you’re not capable or that your perspective isn’t valuable.

  2. Stay curious and don’t be afraid to ask questions — that’s how you grow. If you don’t ask the questions, you’ll never know the answer.

  3. And finally, network! Connections truly make the world go round.

These lessons align closely with my ability to engage with others. By communicating with different kinds of people, I have seen how sharing my perspective, asking questions and networking has helped me in my time as a FORM intern. I encourage anyone, at any point in their career, to remember to speak up, stay curious and connect with anyone you can.

Building strong relationships isn’t just about talking — it’s about listening, too. Some of my favorite moments came from conversations where I simply took the time to hear someone else’s story. It’s incredible how much you can gain when you open yourself up to new ideas and ways of thinking. These interactions often lead to unexpected opportunities, valuable lessons and friendships that I’m confident will last far beyond the internship.

To anyone considering Wray Ward’s FORM program: It’s so much more than just an internship. It’s a chance to find your form of art, share it with others and see just how much you’re capable of. I’m so thankful for every moment.

Whether you’re looking to uncover your strengths, find what energizes you or cultivate relationships that will shape your career, the FORM internship is an amazing place to start. I’m so thankful for every conversation and opportunity that pushed me to become a better version of myself. You never know what is behind every “yes,” but I can confidently share that if you say yes to Wray Ward, you will step into a season of growth, collaboration and the chance to do meaningful work alongside amazing people.
