Chapel Cove Waterfront Community Continues to Grow

Client News

The opening of an amenities center and model home construction have energized Chapel Cove, a master-planned community by Crescent Communities on the Lake Wylie waterfront in North Carolina.

The new amenities center takes advantage of the region’s temperate climate by maximizing the use of thoughtfully planned indoor and outdoor spaces. Standard Pacific Homes is now pre-selling homes in the tranquil Lake Wylie cove; the first of two model homes will be open for tours in summer 2014.

Crescent began development of Chapel Cove in 2007 and maintained the property until a resurgence in the home buying market allowed it to accelerate its long-term vision for the master-planned community.

“Crescent Communities is a patient land owner, and Standard Pacific Homes has been a great partner throughout the development of the Chapel Cove community,” said James Martin, vice president of Crescent’s residential group. “It’s been incredible to watch all of the pieces come together to create the pristine oasis we imagined.”

The recently completed amenities center features 5,000 square feet carefully designed as flexible, comfortable space for residents to connect with neighbors and their surroundings. Diligent planning allowed for an extensive amenities package in a more compact, intimate area. Indoors, residents can enjoy spaces such as a screened-in porch, perfect for children’s birthday parties or games of Ping-Pong, a kitchen for entertaining and a state-of-the-art fitness room with after-hours access. Outdoor features include a lap pool, kids’ splash area, playground and activity lawn that is great for parties or impromptu games of catch. The amenities center also includes two lit tennis courts, a sport court striped for basketball and a pickle ball court.

For residents in search of serenity, Chapel Cove incorporates the natural beauty of the heavily wooded, rolling terrain on the shores of Lake Wylie. An extensive trail system meanders around the community, inviting residents to go for a stroll, explore or simply experience nature. Trails also lead from the amenities center to the lake and a boat storage area, where Crescent will provide canoes and kayaks for residents to explore the cove.

Standard Pacific Homes is building upon Crescent’s vision for the Chapel Cove community, and new model home construction is underway. The first of two model homes will be completed early this summer, and the second model home will be completed later in the summer.

The brand new home designs range from 2,670 to 3,665 square feet of elegant living space. The floor plans feature master suites either upstairs or down and all new exterior elevations that reflect a distinctive architectural style representative of existing homes in the community. Crescent completed a new collection of home sites at Chapel Cove in late 2013 followed by a second collection this spring. The 83 home sites include a mix of 70 and 90-foot-wide home sites and will be available for sale in May. Home prices start in the $300s.

“The new homes are being carefully planned to harmonize with the idyllic setting, and with its proximity to Charlotte, Chapel Cove offers residents a balanced lifestyle with access to work, schools and recreational activities,” said Elliot Mann, division president for Standard Pacific Homes in Charlotte. “We look forward to welcoming residents and families to this beautiful community on Lake Wylie.”

Located southwest of Charlotte, Chapel Cove offers a scenic, relaxing lifestyle yet puts residents within a short drive of  I-485 and points of interest such as Ballantyne, SouthPark, Carolina Place Mall, Charlotte-Douglas International Airport and the U.S. National Whitewater Center. The Rivergate Shopping Center offers nearby retail options, and the neighborhood is getting its own Tanger Outlet Center.

“Chapel Cove is minutes away from all the advantages of a city, yet the secluded location and natural setting make this community the perfect sanctuary for home buyers who want it all,” Martin said.
