The Social Media Content Creator is a designer who works within our PR/Content team to conceptualize, create and enhance visuals for use across all social media platforms.

The Social Media Content Creator role, part of our PR/Content team, is responsible for creating assets for use in social media marketing (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn). Social media programs may be stand-alone programs within the agency or they may be part of integrated marketing communications programs (advertising, content marketing, influencer marketing, public relations), requiring the Social Media Content Creator to collaborate with a team, align social media assets with the specific platform’s best practices, and consider the overall look and feel of the brand and any active campaigns.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities as Social Media Content Creator

  • Create visual content specifically for use across client social media platforms
  • Conceptualize, create and edit content in a variety of formats including images, infographics, GIFs and .mov/.mp4
  • Continually come up with new and innovative ideas for elevating preexisting assets to further engage the intended audience
  • Articulate ideas and communicate proactively with the Social Media team to determine visual design, messaging strategy and conceptual direction
  • Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines and short timelines in a fast-paced social media environment (turnaround times can vary from a few hours to a few days to a few months)
  • Collaborate with the Social Media team to plan on-brand visuals that will engage digital audiences and align with the overall strategy
  • Proactively work with the Social Media team to become knowledgeable about the brand, intended audiences, client expectations and project goals
  • Ensure content meets brand guidelines and ensure design consistency across each channel
  • Employ social platform best practices to verify designs are optimized, sized and formatted correctly for specific channels and viewing devices
  • Work with the Social Media and Creative teams to plan and shoot new content as needed to meet client expectations
  • Ensure work always meets timing and budget and exceeds quality expectations

Additional Responsibilities as a Member of the PR/Content Team

  • Stay up to date with the latest social media trends, applications, technologies, platform updates and best practices
  • Assist with brainstorming and campaign development

Communication Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Listen well and solve problems to achieve the most effective outcome for the client, team and agency
  • Develop strong relationships across the agency
  • Represent the team and Wray Ward in a positive manner in all endeavors


  • BFA in graphic design, interactive design or user-experience design
  • Presentation of portfolio commensurate with experience
  • 1+ year of digital design experience, preferably in an agency environment
  • Strong conceptual thinking
  • Knowledgeable in photography and videography
  • Understanding of graphic design principles (typography, color, layout, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Adobe PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom and Premiere Pro
  • Familiarity with Bannersnack, Canva and Sketch
  • Understanding of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Pinterest and how visuals are used across the platforms (formats, sizes, minimum/maximum length)
  • Attention to detail and a passion for creating groundbreaking work
  • Positive attitude and willingness to improve your craft
  • Ability to take constructive criticism with ease and grace
