The Resource Manager’s primary responsibility is to plan and assist with resourcing for all potential and assigned projects.

The Resource Manager (RM) is responsible for matching the right creative talent with the appropriate level of staffing needed to ensure projects and ongoing client work remain on course and on budget. These individuals serve as a liaison between all teams with a vested interest in the resourcing of any given engagement. This includes Project Managers, Client Engagement Directors, discipline leads, Creatives and other subject matter experts. The RM also works directly with Talent Acquisition/HR to facilitate appropriate creative resources and staffing based on an aggregate understanding of client/project requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities as Resource Manager

  • Maintain constant knowledge of current and upcoming projects and business activities as they relate to resourcing
  • Collaborate with Creative Directors to identify appropriate resource requirements accounts and project work
  • Point of contact for internal and external creative resourcing in support of agency and client goals
  • Attend project kick offs, standing resourcing meetings, and project management stand ups to facilitate assignments and collaboratively resolve conflicts for ongoing or upcoming work.
  • Manage resourcing forecast reports for the creative team based on input from weekly (regular) meetings and the Project Management (PM) Team
  • Manage and resolve resource booking conflicts for internal and external creative resources
  • Understand creative staff’s skill sets to help match talent with work assignments to foster exceptional creative work and timely delivery
  • Assist creative directors with understanding priority deliverables and meetings. Also provide timely performance reviews and 360 degree assessments of the creative team
  • Arrange weekly or regular meetings with the VP, Director of Delivery to discuss all active work and new business to stay informed of workload and potential issues
  • Receive, analyze and report on utilization reports to VP, Director of Delivery as needed
  • Assist Creative Directors with identifying freelance and contract resources that meet agency quality standards; procure a constant flow of portfolios and work samples from outside sources and potential staff to help assess, recruit and hire creative resources (working with HR)
  • Point of contact for indoctrination of agency process for freelancers/contract and new creative hires
  • Recommend process improvements for resource management
  • Help manage utilization of creative teams working to resolve under or over allocations of current creative staff members
  • Assist PM’s adherence to job set up, project approvals, scheduling, time, and financial management including estimating, billing policies and process

  • Help the PM Group Director inspire trust and teamwork among the PM Team and Creative Team
  • Ability to work for effective outcome for client, team and agency, assisting the PM director and creative team with resource management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of Agency production experience preferred
  • Proficient with Workfront and Microsoft Office products
  • General knowledge of capabilities of Adobe products
  • General understanding of creative skill sets needed from layout to programming for digital work
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
