The Receptionist is generally the first point of contact for guests, and is expected to provide exceptional customer service and a welcoming environment.

The Receptionist is responsible for greeting staff, clients, vendors and other visitors. The Receptionist is also responsible for answering calls and fielding them accordingly. Additionally, the Receptionist will be required to support the office manager with ad hoc administrative duties as needed.

The Receptionist is a full-time, Monday–Friday, in-office position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities as Receptionist

  • Manage the reception area to ensure effective telephone communications both internally and externally

  • Greet visitors in a polite, friendly and professional manner

  • Sign visitors in, and then contact proper staff to meet and escort visitors to the proper location

  • Perform general office administration, including the following:
    • Open office, which includes turning on lights, starting coffee and straightening conference rooms for the day and throughout the day

    • Process FedEx bills

    • Distribute mail, FedEx and UPS

    • Act as the point of contact for rental car reservations and returns

    • Process POs for catering, deliveries, cars, travel and office purchases

    • Handle client and internal catering requests

    • Provide other support as needed


  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in an office environment

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks

  • Skilled in the operation of standard office equipment, including copiers, scanners and postage

  • Strong client service and organizational skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
