The primary role of the Paid Search Manager is to activate and implement paid search and/or SEO campaigns (which one depends on experience and candidate preference), projects and retainer engagements.

The Paid Search Manager must possess a track record of managing integrated search activations, and optimizations from end-to-end.

The Paid Search Manager will have a basic level understanding of the capabilities of each search channel and the technology platforms across the digital media tech stack. The Paid Search Manager will work with and support a team of highly fluent platform experts responsible for building, executing and reporting on client plans.

The Paid Search Manager reports to the Integrated Search Associate Director and will work closely with the Performance Media and Investments team, Integrated Media team, Content Marketing team, Creative Directors, Client Business Directors and Project Managers, and the Measurement and Analytics team in all functions of the job – being a positive bridge across the agency and an active champion for the discipline.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities as Paid Search Manager

  • Manage paid search and/or SEO campaigns across a variety of clients/partnerships
  • Oversee the activation of paid search campaigns as part of integrated campaigns and as standalone endeavors
  • Optimize campaigns across our search channels to drive campaign performance
  • Actively demonstrate thought leadership to guide and advise our clients and fellow Wray Ward team members
  • Responsible for recommending channel spends as part of overall program objectives to meet campaign KPIs
  • Maintain knowledge of clients’ businesses, competition and latest industry news and trends
  • Work with the Measurement Director to develop analytic reports and dashboards that monitor campaign outcomes and performance
  • Manage campaign progress and measurement process for assigned accounts across multiple campaigns; analyze performance trends and work with team to recommend optimization strategies and approaches
  • Communicate campaign progress to other team members, executives, and clients through active participation in the preparation and distribution of client performance reports and presentations
  • Participate in the creation of proposals for new and existing clients, support new business efforts as needed
  • Support Client Business Directors with report explanations and campaign performance updates

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience managing search and/or SEO activities, with a preference towards paid search
  • Advanced knowledge of paid search platform capabilities, including Google Ads and/or SA360
  • Experience in SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Moz, SEMRush, Spyfu, Conductor, etc.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills with proficiency in Google Analytics or equivalent tools (Google Data Studio, Adobe Analytics, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of tracking implementation and tools, including Google Tag Manager and Google Ads conversion tracking
  • Ability to balance multiple projects/clients and team leadership while prioritizing work with evolving and competing timelines, budgets and availabilities
