The Integrated Media Senior Strategist (IMSS) is responsible for developing and managing strategic media plans across all online and offline platforms and channels.

With limited oversight, the IMSS is accountable for research, development, presentation and execution of client media plans. The IMSS is also responsible for working with and leading (when applicable) an internal Media brand team to plan and oversee execution of media programs, monitor media buys and direct optimization recommendations as appropriate.

Key responsibilities include leading the creation of innovative strategies to meet and exceed client business objectives, presenting media plans and providing plan maintenance oversight, including the recommendation of objectives, strategies and campaign updates, analyzing metrics for campaign effectiveness and leading the sharing of data and insights among relevant teams.

The IMSS will work closely with the Connections Strategy Director, the Integrated Media Strategy team, the Performance Media and Investments team, the Insights team, and the Analytics and Measurement team in all functions of the job — being a positive bridge across the agency and an active champion for the discipline.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities as Integrated Media Senior Strategist

  • Partner with Connections Strategy Director to set the strategic tone for account assignments
  • Possess and maintain an expert-level understanding of integrated media strategy and planning across platforms
  • Lead the preparation, development, execution and stewardship of media plans for specific clients, while supporting the team and ensuring plans are executed in line with WW processes and standards
  • Develop strategically sound, technically correct and accurate media plans
  • Lead reporting analysis to derive key insights and implications from data patterns
  • Be the key client touch point for media strategy
  • Maintain effective relationships with clients and internal teams
  • Analyze opportunities and sponsorships and make sound recommendations
  • Build strong, positive relationships with media reps
  • Mentor Media Assistant to grow their strategy capabilities, including developing their skills, evaluating their performance and managing their growth
  • Lead the briefing of the Activation Team across channels to execute plans
  • Understand the client’s needs
  • Manage expectations of clients and deliverables
  • Grow business opportunities within current clients, where appropriate
  • Lead face-to-face client and vendor meetings
  • Champion the integrated media process within the media structure and across internal teams
  • Edit and review the writing of media documents (timelines, plans, client docs and correspondence)

Additional Responsibilities as a Member of the Connections Team

  • Be a leading voice in the agency and a trusted advisor for clients regarding media trends
  • Play a role in agency new business development, especially related to media strategy and recommendations
  • Keep up with latest trends/events in advertising, home industry and other client-related industries
  • Attend and participate actively in relevant team, agency and client meetings
  • Be an active participant in idea generation, brainstorming and creative thinking
  • Be a positive, motivating member of the team
  • Bring new ideas to the team and champion the use of paid opportunities to reach audiences

  • Write formal POVs on new opportunities or recommended approaches to shifts across media landscape/digital ecosystem

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6+ years’ media experience
  • Knowledge of trends and innovations in traditional and digital media
  • Proven experience creating and selling media programs
  • Balanced ability to perform analytically and creatively
  • Advanced computer skills (G Suite, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven leadership skills and management experience
