Wray Ward is looking to hire self-motivated and disciplined copywriting, graphic design, and digital design freelancers.

Freelancers are required to complete assignments that meet prescribed specifications.

To ensure success as a freelancer, you should possess excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch freelancer will be able to complete assignments with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities as Copywriter

  • Concept and handle all writing on trade and consumer accounts — everything from print and broadcast to collateral, interactive and nontraditional media

  • Develop and write creative across all media

  • Be able to find or follow a tone of voice for each client

  • Work closely with a designer when needed on assignments

  • Continually offer unique and strategic solutions

  • Hone presentation skills


  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Agency experience preferred

Essential Duties & Responsibilities as Graphic Designer

  • Formulating assignments in accordance with prescribed specifications

  • Editing assignments to ensure that they are accurate and well-presented

  • Liaising with supervisor to clarify assignment-related expectations, as needed

  • Submitting completed assignments in the stipulated format

  • Storing and filing copies of all completed assignments

  • Keeping an accurate record of hours worked and income received

  • Registering as a taxpayer and filing your own tax returns on time

  • Ensuring that your work equipment remains in excellent working condition at all times.

  • Relevant educational qualification

  • Prior freelancing experience in a similar role

  • Portfolio of completed projects

  • Access to all equipment needed to complete tasks

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

  • Drive, discipline, and initiative


  • Bachelor’s degree in visual/graphic design or formal design training

  • 3-5 years of design experience in an agency or creative environment

  • Experience developing successful concepts and implementing them through design solutions, many of which have been adopted by clients

  • Passion for making it easier for people to understand complex ideas

  • Expertise in the tools required to do your work and the drive to maintain that expertise

  • Strong portfolio of proven, innovative, solid work

The Digital Designer is a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail, and strong conceptual skills. We're seeking Digital Designers to drive creative output across a range of innovative projects – with a strong pedigree in visual design, demonstrated expertise in creating digital design systems, and a solid approach to delivering consistent, development-ready work.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities as Digital Designer

  • Assist in the design and production of large-scale projects including websites, banners, branding, content, and more

  • Create high-fidelity mood boards, concepts, visual design comps, prototypes, pattern libraries and digital style guides

  • Designs meticulous, beautiful layouts and creative concepts that take into account client brand guidelines and specifications (websites, mobile applications, email, etc.)

  • Help bridge business objectives with target users goals, desires and preferences to drive actions

  • Work in tandem with content strategists and developers to ensure all functionality and design is meeting client and internal expectations

  • Assist in asset gathering, and organizing as well as production prep

  • Participate in user research and preparation of client presentation materials

  • Juggle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Prototype complex interactions with high standards of usability in mind


  • 3+ years of visual design experience, preferably some in an agency environment

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Strong conceptual thinking. We want people who can start a project off from an incredibly strong position and come up with surprising, smart concepts that are going to get results

  • Adobe Creative Suite and Figma should be core elements of your toolbox.

  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills—the ability to work with cross disciplinary teams and mentor other designers

  • Confidence and skill to communicate your ideas clearly

  • Familiarity with various prototyping tools

  • Experience designing new, innovative layouts and designs that scale and flex across different platforms and screen sizes

  • A user centric design approach, as evidenced by considerations for accessibility, technology platforms, and contextual storytelling

  • A passion for all aspects of design including conceptual thinking, typography, motion, copy, and imagery

  • Experience building products, developing component-based design systems and adapting brand guidelines to create scalable systems

  • A great attitude and a lack of ego
