A Client Engagement Senior Manager loves their clients! They passionately cultivate client relationships that are enduring and trusted.

Client Engagement Senior Managers (CESM) also work closely with their Client Engagement Associate Directors and Client Engagement Managers to act as a collective team, planning and implementing client projects, by drawing on our internal teams’ skills to help their clients meet their marketing communications goals. CESMs love a great idea, and go the extra mile to foster brand team creativity and brand-building ideas, while always ensuring that ideas are on strategy and well positioned to gain support within client organizations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities as Client Engagement Senior Manager

Trust building

  • Perceived as someone the client can confide in

  • Manage successful and trust-based relationships with clients

  • Ability to manage others on their teams

  • Ensure that the strategic goals of the brand/client are communicated to the client team and met through the work

  • Work closely with the Insights team to frame and participate in strategy development and to set and measure brand goals

  • Knowledgeable of our Earned, Owned, Paid and Shared media offerings

  • Help the Insights team analyze research and present findings to clients

  • Works closely and effectively with team members including project managers so that projects proceed as anticipated and strategic goals are met, anticipating obstacles and aggressively addressing concerns that could undermine client relationships

  • Connect marketing goals and strategic solutions to the broader business context

  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and foster innovative solutions

  • Ensure that the client team meets the agency goal of providing a continuous flow of brand-building ideas

  • Always strive for the best results and maintain excitement about involvement with clients and their brands

  • Collaborate with the Client Engagement Associate Director on client plans and budgets and follow up on how the plans are being implemented

  • Make good use of insights to stay informed and leverage industry trends

  • Intuitively understand the dynamics of clients’ businesses

  • Stay in tune with all account activity and anticipate potential issues or dissatisfaction, proactively taking steps to remedy concerns

  • Present plans, recommendations, creative work and analysis to clients

  • Pinpoint and lead organic growth opportunities within existing business

  • Oversee the successful onboarding of new clients and perhaps employees

Communication Skills

  • Demonstrate excellent written, verbal and listening skills

  • Be comfortable and adept in representing Wray Ward with a client’s senior management

  • Demonstrate outstanding presentation skills in formal and informal settings and be an excellent meeting leader

  • Communicate in a clear, coherent and professional manner

  • Be self-assured as well as sensitive when leading client team members

  • Maintain a candid professional relationship with other Wray Ward staff

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of agency experience in leading account projects or equivalent client experience

  • Demonstrated success in attracting, managing and growing clients

  • Proven track record of taking projects and initiatives from insights to objectives to strategies to tactics

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Must be Charlotte-based or willing to relocate

  • Ability to be onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
