Sunbrella® and Architectural Digest Explore the Marriage of Luxury and Versatility with Perspective Los Angeles

Client News

Elegant. Glamorous. Beautiful. Functional. The idea that interior design can provide both aesthetic beauty and everyday versatility is at the heart of Perspective Los Angeles, part of a series of designer showcases that addresses varying perspectives on high-end design. Cosponsored by Sunbrella® fabrics and Architectural Digest, the event will feature five full-scale vignettes carefully crafted by a select group of interior designers from across the country.

From a modern Turkish pavilion to a stylishly relaxed lounge to an homage to the classic elegance of the open-air Round Hill Resort in Jamaica, the diverse vignettes will be showcased this fall at The Washbow in Culver City, California.

“Culver City is part nostalgic and part trendy, elements that are often blended together in high-end design,” said Gina Wicker, creative director for Sunbrella. “We’re excited to take our Perspective series to the West Coast, a hub for some of the country’s best interior designers and home to many showrooms that carry our high-end upholstery collections.”

Twelve interior designers and design teams submitted renderings of rooms that exclusively feature Sunbrella fabrics available to the design trade. Five of the vignettes will be built and unveiled at The Washbow during the Perspective Los Angeles event, October 6-7. All other submitted designs will be displayed in the surrounding design gallery, highlighting each designer’s unique perspective on the role of Sunbrella fabrics in high-end interior design.

Architectural Digest is thrilled to partner with Sunbrella to showcase the company’s luxurious, versatile fabrics and how they can be used in such creative ways,” said Architectural Digest Publisher and Chief Revenue Officer Giulio Capua. “The 12 designers invited to participate in Perspective Los Angeles are a diverse mix of talents, and we were happy to help foster these designer connections.”

The five vignettes selected to be built out for Perspective Los Angeles were submitted by Los Angeles designers Natasha Baradaran (Natasha Baradaran Interior Design), Chad McPhail (Chad McPhail Design), and Max Humphrey (Burnham Design), as well as New York-based talents Lindsey Coral Harper (Lindsey Coral Harper Interior Design) and design team Katrina Hernandez and Joshua Greene (Hernandez Greene). The vignettes feature custom upholstery, draperies, and inspiring artwork and accessories unique to each designer’s vision.

Design renderings displayed in the gallery include creations from design team Brittany Zwickl and Shannon Wollack (LIFE.STYLE.), Julie Couch (Julie Couch Interiors), Lauren Geremia (Geremia Design), Marie Flanigan (Marie Flanigan Interiors), Palmer Weiss (Palmer Weiss Interior Design), design team Alexandra Pappas and Tatyana Miron (Pappas Miron), and Ryan Saghian (Ryan Saghian Interior Design).

Perspective Los Angeles will debut to the design community, VIPs, and tastemakers at a cocktail party on October 6, followed by a panel discussion moderated by AD West Coast editor Mayer Rus on October 7. The initiative will also be featured in a custom advertising unit in the January 2016 issue of Architectural Digest.
