Brian Natwick, Crescent Communities’ multifamily president, this week was named to the Charlotte Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, recognizing the business achievements and community service of the city’s most promising young professionals.

“More than just a builder or developer, Brian has a knack for imagining a piece of land as a place where a community can thrive and families can grow,” said Todd Mansfield, chief executive officer of Crescent Communities, a real estate investment, development and operations company. “He is a talented leader, an engaged community citizen and a dedicated family man, and we are excited to celebrate the business community’s recognition of his considerable accomplishments.”

Natwick joined Crescent in 2006 and was promoted to the role of multifamily president in 2011. Under his leadership, Crescent’s multifamily team has generated new development within and outside Charlotte and created jobs in an operation that includes 22 multifamily projects with 6,500 units under construction/lease-up or in planning/pre-development. He has led several signature projects including Crescent Cameron Village, the first apartment living option in Raleigh’s historic Cameron Village mixed-use community, and developed partnerships with top lenders.

In addition to his accomplishments at Crescent, Natwick serves on the board of Habitat for Humanity Charlotte and is an active member of Urban Land Institute, National Multi Housing Council and Young Presidents’ Organization. A husband and father of three, he coaches a youth soccer team and volunteers with Boy Scouts of America. He also has been part of the public/private collaborative TreesCharlotte, which relies on the support of volunteers to plant 15,000 trees on an annual basis.

Natwick graduated with honors from the University of Florida and earned a master’s in business administration from the McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte.

“It is truly an honor to represent Crescent Communities,” Natwick said. “The 40 Under 40 award is a testament to this organization’s steadfast belief in the importance of collaboration, innovation and excellence. I am grateful for my colleagues, family and community. All of them have supported me, every step of the way.”

Natwick and other honorees will be recognized at the 21st Annual 40 Under 40 Awards Reception on Tuesday, March 25, 5-8 p.m. The event will be held at Charlotte’s McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square, 345 North College Street.
