Building Project Manager in Bridgehampton, N.Y., Wins AdvanTech® Flooring ‘Vegas VIP Contest’

Client News

Chris Calderone, building project manager for Continental Pinewood Development in Bridgehampton, N.Y., is the grand prize winner of the AdvanTech® flooring “Vegas VIP Contest,” launched last summer by Huber Engineered Woods to identify success stories behind their customers’ uses of AdvanTech panels.

Calderone, who oversees high-end residential projects for Continental Pinewood, was selected from nearly 100 participants who entered the contest online, by email or through social media channels. His entry cited the importance of moisture control and durability in selecting the right subfloor product.

“This past winter, we had AdvanTech panels exposed on three of the 37 houses, all with AdvanTech flooring, going up in this (Bridgehampton) neighborhood,” Calderone said. “We had to shovel the snow out at least five or six times, if not more. All of my AdvanTech subflooring held up extremely well. That’s why I love the product.”

The entries provided Huber, a leading manufacturer of innovative building solutions, with first-hand knowledge on the use of AdvanTech products in the field.

“The contest generated original, compelling entries from builders, architects and remodelers nationwide on how they build strong with AdvanTech panels,” said Tracy Collins, marketing manager for AdvanTech flooring. “From the product’s ability to resist water to its strength and durability, each story offered a unique perspective from a jobsite application.”

As the grand prize winner, Calderone received airfare, hotel accommodations and credentials for two to the 2015 NAHB International Builders Show (IBS) in January in Las Vegas.

Monthly contest winners received AdvanTech flooring-branded Carhartt jackets:

  • October – Marvin Blum, Blum Custom Builders, Houston: “A subfloor that’s strong and resists moisture is right for me.”
  • September – Rob Kilkenny, Kilkenny Remodeling, Asheville, N.C.: “I use AdvanTech because it’s easy! Easy to install, easy to put the finished floor down. It’s just easy.”
  • August – Rusty MacLachlan, J. Russell MacLachlan Homes, Springfield, Mo.: “The first job I used it on had three inches of ice, when we chipped the ice off we never had to sand a seam ….”
