Wray Ward Hires Talented Duo, Promotes Copywriter

Agency News

Marketing communications agency Wray Ward has grown its creative team, hiring David Haire as senior designer and Josiah Goodrum as junior copywriter, and promoting Katie Moore to senior copywriter.

“Katie and Josiah have a knack for understanding brands’ needs and developing written concepts that are fresh and on point,” said John Roberts, vice president and executive creative director for Wray Ward. “David is great at taking those written concepts and transforming them into visual stories. These individuals’ innate talent, strategic thinking and creative application result in thoughtful, innovative work.”

Haire began his career at Wray Ward and returns as a senior designer after working as an independent designer for more than a decade. With 15 years of creative experience, Haire brings expertise in creative strategy, design, art direction and illustration to his role. Prior to joining Wray Ward, Haire worked for and on behalf of brands including Nintendo Worldwide, the National Basketball Association, Coca-Cola, Sony Records, OM Records and Duke Energy. Haire’s work merited the Judges Award for Excellence in Art Direction at the ADDYs, as well as Gold and Silver Hermes Creative Awards.

Moore was promoted to senior copywriter after demonstrating her versatile talents on a range of projects from new product launches, product naming and print advertisements to video scripts and motion content. She also assists with digital projects for larger client campaigns and community partner initiatives. Prior to joining the agency in spring 2015, Moore worked as a writer and producer at MTV. In her role, Moore developed original creative concepts to promote scripted and reality-driven programming, integrated marketing and tent-pole events including the MTV Movie Awards and Video Music Awards. Moore’s work was recognized at the MTV Video Music Awards with the Creativity Integrated Campaign Design Award in 2014 and the PromaxBDA Award in 2013.

Goodrum stepped into the role of junior copywriter following a 2015 internship with the agency. His talent and collaborative nature are instrumental in ideation sessions and throughout the creative process. Goodrum graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in marketing.

“In an increasingly competitive marketplace, we’re always looking to grow and develop our own talent, and one way we do that is through internships,” said Roberts. “People like Josiah provide a spark in the shape of fresh ideas and youthful energy.”
