The Senior Integrated Media Planner is responsible for developing and managing strategic media plans across all online and offline platforms and channels.
With limited oversight, the Senior Integrated Media Planner (SIMP) is accountable for research, development, presentation and execution of client media plans. The SIMP is also responsible for collaborating with and leading (when applicable) a team of paid channel specialists to plan and oversee execution of media programs, monitor media buys and direct optimization recommendations as appropriate.
Key responsibilities include leading the creation of innovative paid media strategies to meet and exceed client business objectives; presenting media plans and providing plan maintenance oversight, including the recommendation of objectives, strategies and campaign updates; analyzing metrics for campaign effectiveness; and leading the sharing of data and insights among relevant teams.
The SIMP will work closely with the Integrated Media Strategy Group Director, the Integrated Media Strategy team, the Performance Media and Investments team, the Insights team and the Analytics and Measurement team in all functions of the job — being a positive bridge across the agency and an active champion for the discipline.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities as Senior Integrated Media Planner
Partner with the Integrated Media Strategy Group Director to set the strategic tone for account assignments
Possess and maintain an expert-level understanding of paid media strategy and planning across all platforms and channels
Lead the preparation, development, execution and stewardship of media plans for specific clients while supporting the team and ensuring plans are executed in line with Wray Ward processes and standards
Develop strategically sound, technically correct and accurate media plans
Lead reporting analysis to derive key insights and implications from campaign performance data
Be the key client touch point for media strategy on assigned client accounts
Maintain effective relationships with clients and internal teams
Analyze opportunities and sponsorships and make sound recommendations
Build strong, positive relationships with media reps
Mentor assistant (when applicable) by helping develop their skills, evaluating their performance and managing their growth
Lead the briefing of the Activation team across channels to execute plans
Understand the client’s needs
Manage expectations of clients and deliverables
Lead face-to-face client and vendor meetings
Champion the integrated media planning process within agency media structure and across internal teams
Edit and review the writing of media documents (timelines, plans, client docs and correspondence)

Keep up with latest trends/events in advertising, the home industry and other client-related industries

Qualifications
5+ years of paid media planning experience
Bachelor’s degree
Strong understanding of all paid media channels including but not limited to social, search, display, video, audio, out-of-home, terrestrial radio, TV, and print
Strong understanding of full funnel media objectives
Familiar with relevant measurement methodologies such as different attribution models and how to coordinate and setup a 3rd-party ad effectiveness study
Familiar with how to navigate business intelligence tools such as Google Data Studio, Datorama, or Tableau
3+ years experience with media planning tools such as MRI-Simmons, Comscore, Strata, MediaOcean, Nielsen, Kantar
Experience with eCommerce a plus
Experience within communications planning a plus
Advanced computer skills (Google Suite - Drive, Slides, Sheets, Docs)
Proven leadership skills and management experience
