The role of the Account Manager, Public Relations and Content Marketing is to manage public relations and content marketing programs and initiatives, which can include media relations, strategic planning, thought leadership, influencer marketing, event planning, editorial writing and social media writing. This position will be heavily focused on media relations for trade and consumer outlets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the public relations and integrated marketing teams to plan, define, complete and deliver client work on time and on budget
  • Support the development of public relations and content marketing initiatives in all forms for assigned client business and any business development projects as assigned
  • Understand how to use agency’s software and online tools to track editorial and social media results, overseeing production and management of client clip reports and social media measurement reports
  • Manage daily news media relations activities, editorial calendar review, storyline identification, and outreach to editors, reporters, and assignment editors
  • Write press oriented and direct content, including news releases, media advisories, bylined articles, feature stories, newsletter content, blogs and social media posts and ensure content is optimized for search
  • Plan special events, such as editor roundtables and product launches or consumer events
  • Work closely with other agency groups to ensure a seamless project workflow
  • Oversee coordination of project quality to ensure highest quality deliverables


Qualifications

  • Three to five years of experience in a public relations position including media relations, with proven ability to generate results
  • Agency experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work well and form long-term relationships with news media, bloggers and influencers
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of how public relations aligns with content marketing in integrated marketing communications campaigns
  • Strong social media skills
  • Familiarity with CISION a plus
  • Bachelor's degree
