Carrie McCament Joins Wray Ward as VP, Director of Client Engagement

Agency News

Carrie McCament, a proven leader who turns big ideas into actionable and results-driven plans, has joined Wray Ward as vice president, director of client engagement. McCament, who has worked for agency holding companies IPG, Omnicom and Publicis, brings innovative thinking and a strategic mindset that are an ideal fit for Wray Ward’s approach to building brands.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Carrie at such an exciting time for this agency and our industry,” said Jennifer Appleby, president and chief creative officer of Wray Ward, which manages inspired and integrated campaigns for brands including Sunbrella, Moen, VELUX, LEVOLOR and Huber Engineered Woods. “Her energy, drive and agency experience align perfectly with the high expectations and demands of the job.”

McCament held agency leadership roles at MullenLowe (a subsidiary of the InterPublic Group of Companies), GO! Experience Design (a subsidiary of the OMNICOM Group) and Publicis.Sapient/Rosetta, a leading digital and customer engagement agency headquartered in New York. She most recently served as CMO at Brownstein Group in Philadelphia, and in her more than 20 years in marketing and advertising she has worked in industries ranging from fashion and retail to home and consumer goods. In addition to account leadership, her marketing acumen includes social media, content development, experiential/consumer engagement and public and community relations.

A recognizable name, McCament spearheaded and launched Frank about Women, an innovative and highly successful marketing-to-women consultancy of MullenLowe. The initiative, which began in 2002, put McCament in the spotlight as a speaker at national and international events and a consultant to companies including General Motors, Hamilton Beach, Hallmark and Kimberly Clark. According to McCament, the experience of forming the consultancy and guiding its path set a trajectory for the rest of her career.

“We looked at the whitespace and said, who buys everything? Who makes all the decisions? Travel? Finance? Home? It’s women. Frank About Women was my aperture to the fact that this wasn’t just the consultancy that focused on women. This was the marketplace. It’s still part of me. I can activate that anywhere,” said McCament, who later took that knowledge and experience to other agencies and brands such as Bank of America and Samsung. “Everything I’ve done in my career has led me to this point and being a part of the leadership team at Wray Ward.

“Wray Ward is innovative, authentic and strategically smart with its focus in home. And the work? It’s beautiful and elegant and impactful,” McCament said. “I want to contribute to a great firm whose people love where they work and what they do. This is that place.”
