Free Ramblin’ Man Summer Tour in Charlotte Now Through August 26
07/26/2011
Manley Roberts is lending his talent in a six-location piano tour to raise money for Charlotte Chamber Music, Charlotte's professional chamber music organization, in a free piano concert series, "Ramblin' Man 24-Hour Summer Piano Tour.”
The piano tour opened at Bistro La Bon, a popular Plaza Midwood neighborhood restaurant, on July 7, and the tour will continue July 29 at Café Monte in Charlotte's Phillips Place. The piano tour will be performed in five additional two-to-three hour segments with the finale on August 26.
"Manley's tour is the perfect fit in our vibrant city and its vision for the future,” said Elaine Spallone, executive director for Charlotte Chamber Music. "The Ramblin' Man Tour connects people in Charlotte through music. It's social, intimate and a fun way to raise funds for Charlotte Chamber Music.”
Manley Roberts, a lawyer by day and musician by night, performs with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra Oratorio Singers. Manley will perform jazz to folk to rock to blues and will even take requests during the tour. All tips and donations raised during his total 24 hours of performing will help fund more than 20 chamber music performances, including 16 free concerts and the performances of many talented musicians.
